The Paragon Method
Preparing the Mind, Not Just the Student.
We combine academic preparation with proven techniques to reduce anxiety, build confidence, and improve performance under pressure.
- Test anxiety management
- Mindset & confidence
- Focus & resilience
- Performance routines
Purely academic prep is not a winning strategy.
Prepping students academically to take a test is only part of the equation. Being academically prepared but mentally stressed will not produce optimal results. The Paragon Method is a proprietary program that gives students tools and strategies to minimize the impact of test stress on test results and in-school performance.
Developed and overseen by co-founder Roseanne Smith and taught by our test prep and study skills specialists.
Why it matters now
Student anxiety has risen sharply, and it shows up in results:
- Youth mental health has worsened, with record highs in persistent sadness and hopelessness through 2021 and levels still elevated in 2023 (CDC Youth Risk Behavior Survey, 2011–2023).
- Pandemic learning disruption lowered academic self-efficacy and raised stress, with stark declines in math and reading (NAEP / NCES, 2022).
- Social media and 24/7 comparison: heavy use is linked to poorer mental health and disrupted sleep (U.S. Surgeon General advisory, 2023).
- Many teens do not meet recommended sleep; insufficient sleep is associated with anxiety and poorer performance (CDC; AAP guidance).
- Anxiety prevalence among students has risen over the past decade (ACHA-NCHA; Healthy Minds Study, 2013–2023).
